[Cross posted from my old LinkedIn profile]
So I popped in to see how to delete this Linked In Profile because I am out of the International Higher Ed game. I was burned by it, two schools, two shitty managers.
Unfortunately, I had almost 40 requests to connect which isn’t happening if you are a student at a university I previously worked at, a former coworker I haven’t kept in touch with since leaving either place or some rando who keyword searches people’s profiles and sends a connection request.
I’m not going to check in on this profile much, and I really, really am separating myself from the higher education industry. It’s a sham really, a grinding machine designed to drain students and the families that support them for very little return on investment in exchange for a lot of debt and not a lot of options at graduation. Believe me, my student loan debt vs what I’m doing with my degree (hint that would be absolutely NOTHING) is bullshit.
Save your money, go to junior college and find a job with as little debt as possible. Don’t let the higher ed fantasy of a good education = good job, grind you down and spit you out.
I’m doing other things, things that I feel actually are making an impact on the industry I’ve moved towards. Get out of higher ed, find something useful with your time and talent.
If you are in games, or the gaming industry, interested in better diversifying it then you can request to follow me over at my other profile; https://www.linkedin.com/in/ineeddivgames
No guarantee I will respond or add you back as again I am trying to make a break from higher education and especially international education. This account will hopefully be deleted soon.
