Let us have our moment, our turn for once.
So, as usual there are folka who want to pull an all lives type thing re: this tweet. Lemme clarify for you. The person who said this is a POC, and they know far too well what it’s like to virtually kill yourself in games as the villain. So the statement isn’t about average scruffy white dude or red head white female lead in games that we’ve got plenty of.
That was for everyone who doesn’t see themselves in the games they play over and over again. It was not a me too! Moment for non POC, non lgbtqia & non marginalized folks to get in their feelings about being “left out”. Y’all are already the majority in a lot of ways. It’s like some people can’t understand the need for representation or something.
When someone is used to not seeing themselves in media, and they finally have that moment it’s powerful. Don’t ignore that. More importantly, its derailing and recentering a moment that’s not about you and your feelings to make it about you.
TL;DR its not always about you and you know what? You’ll live.
