So, let’s talk about this… rather lemme clean up my earlier twitterpations on this profoundly stupid idea of black washing characters.

First off… Black washing is not even a real thing. Jesus wept…

COME ON NOW

This is where we’re at now? Having a black dude in marketing & playable has folks tied up like this? Let’s talk about this ridiculous notion of blackwashing. One, it’s not accurate terminology. No one race swapped a white lead in BF.

Two, in an attempt to repurpose whitewashing; they fail. Whitewashing is changing a character of color by making them white.

Three, you fragile motherfuckers need to take all the seats. You are not suffering by being black in a game for X hours. Try living it.

There is privilege at play here. That some people can’t even put away their feelings to be a brown protagonist. They can’t. These kind of ridiculous responses were why I wrote “Look, a few black protagonists are not the end of gaming as some racists are predicting”

The way people carry on when faced with the idea of being a black character in a game no one is forcing them to be is ridiculous. Oh no, three whole games don’t have scruffy, brown haired, blues eyed, gruff white dude lead?!

Whatever will you do?

I repeat, no one is forcing you to buy a game you simply can’t stand because of inclusion of black leads. No one. The funny, not funny thing about their anger at BF1? It’s a FPS where you don’t really see your character except cut scenes. Y’all so angry at a black lead you can’t even really see? Glass is stronger than people mad at BF1 having a black soldier. Also, fuck that historical accuracy bullshit argument. Google Harlem Hellfighters & be quiet

Last thing before I actually get out of bed. This black folks have a camo advantage?

WHAT THE ENTIRE FUCKING FUCK?

That’s extra racism for flavour. It goes back to phrases like “smile, I can’t see you.” Or calling us all darkies, etc. Hell even happened when I was streaming Mafia III. Lincoln Clay isn’t that dark (see my header image) but I still had someone asking me to turn up the brightness so they could see him.

TL;DR some racist fuckhead gamers are too fragile to pretend to be black in a game & make up terms to play at oppression for hobby.
