Thoughts on reactions to the results of the election. Spawned by that video, though it turned out not to be an antiTr**p protest after all.

I’ve never seen a response to an incoming administrator like this in my life. Even when Obama won, after fear mongering by opposition. There were tears, but not of terror. Not because we literally feared for our lives. Hate crimes did not rise after his win.

For all the hatred slung by the Rethugs during Obama’s two runs & victories; whites weren’t attacked like POC & others have this week on college campuses, places supposedly where young people should learn? Huge spike in hate crimes there.

Not a coincidence y’all.

This is what happens when you run on a platform of hatred, racism, fear of immigrants, LGBTQIA, mock the disabled. True natures are shown. There has always been racism in this country. To see it boldly on display as it was when my mother & grandmother were young is terrifying.

Racists feel entitled to put themselves out there with no shame. After all their incoming POTUS did the same & won right? So let’s not act like all the shit we’re seeing is new. Racists now feel like they can do what they want & have no repercussions.

The fact that people are getting harassed, told that slavery was coming back, threatened with their hijab being ripped off…that should tell you what we are facing for the next four years. Why people like me are literally afraid for our lives.

There’s also the VP who believes in conversion therapy. We know incoming POTUS doesn’t care about disabled Americans either.

Also, let’s drop the white guilt from people shall we? Beating your breast and pleading forgiveness means nothing. It’s bad theatre now. And drop the white defensiveness. Marginalised folks who are in danger from what the next four years will do? Don’t need it either.

Very tired of not all white people responses to things I post. Again the time to show up was Nov 8th. Too late now y’all.

So I need people to examine the response to who’s coming into power, who is excited, guilty or fearful of what’s to come. Consider what your friends are saying, their fears and worry. Examine why you feel guilty if you’re white. Internally not with POC.

Then figure out your next steps. Whether it’s to survive, leave, protest. But if you didn’t vote for this incoming regime of hate? Then I hope you’re ready to do something & not just complain, or plead for tolerance & a chance for Tr**p’s Amerikkka to see how it is.

The chance was given for entire presidential race, nothing was shown for us to want to give any further chances. None is coming from me.

I’m going to give this administration as much respect that Rethugs gave to President Obama during his two campaigns and terms. NONE
